Our Story

At Great Day Juice Company, we began out of a passion for helping people.

 “I have been in the business of helping people feel good for years, but I’ve dreamt about providing another avenue to feeling great. Juicing and healthy eating has become a personal passion of mine. I want to share the benefits of fresh, healthy eating options with our community.” - Michele Rhodes, owner.

My mission was clear - after operating a hair salon for over eighteen years, I saw an opportunity for personal growth. While working long hours on my feet, I found it difficult to feel my best. Listening to my clients as they sat in the salon chair, I consistently heard about their health ailments.

At this moment, I realized that most of my diet and that of my customers did not contain real food. These poor diets could be a significant contributor to all of the health ailments everyone so commonly spoke of.

When I discovered my passion for improved health through a natural diet, I decided to close the salon to focus on my next steps and began working for someone else. Over the next five years, I threw myself into the world of holistic health, learning everything I could during that time. I worked to achieve my certification as a Nutritional Health Coach, a Culinary Nutrition Expert, and a Certified Juice Expert.

As this journey unfolded, I experienced changes in our well-being. Not only was I looking better, but I was feeling much healthier. After trading in heavily processed, chemical-ridden, sugar-infested foods for a natural and clean diet, I knew I was on the right path.

After realizing the many benefits of eating fresh foods, I noticed that nothing was available in my community. Somerset needed an option for fresh, healthy, grab-and-go, natural foods.

Great Day Juice Company, located at 253 West Main Street, Somerset, PA, was born from this realization. My husband, Bruce, and I spent the year building out the clean, crisp, and energetic environment from a previously vacant little building in the uptown business district of Somerset.
